From Sleep to a Dream

My eyes are closed and soft sweet voices penetrate my world.

Slowly my eyes struggle to open

and my dream begins.

The warmth of the sun is courageously trying to

shine into my dream.

The warmth draws me to the curtains and beyond them

the clouds are competing with the sun.

The sun won’t surrender.

Too many days and nights the clouds have won this

game…

today the sun takes its turn.

The sheep beyond my window seem to relish the

strength of the sun.

the green pastures have a spectacular sheen sprayed

across the blades of grass.

The pastures are dotted with white specks of

motion.

Each cloud leaves a brief imprint on the

mountainside.

The warmth is penetrating my body.

The dream has just begun.

How can one put into words the beauty the black

valley holds?

It’s grandeur absolutely leaves one spellbound.

Never in my life, or, in a dream,

could I have imagined such beauty.

The gentle breeze drifts by as if to remind me to

include it into my dream.

I graciously accept it’s reminder and include the

winds energy in my dream.

I thank the wind for awaking of my senses.

I thank the sun for soothing my spirit.

I thank the clouds for the gentle dance across the

land.
